What you’ll learn
- Demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures in their clinical practice to deliver effective and safe otolaryngologic care in the era of COVID-19.
- Define the phenotypes and endotypes of chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyposis.
- Discuss the role of biologics in the treatment of chronic sinusitis with and without polyposis.
- Demonstrate understanding of surgical anatomy, utilization of intra-operative image-guided navigation and newer techniques and technologies during endoscopic sinus surgery such as balloon sinus dilation and drug-eluting stents.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify aerosol-generating procedures in an otolaryngology practice.
- Demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures in their clinical practice to deliver effective and safe otolaryngologic care in the era of COVID-19.
- Apply measures in their practice to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19 infection among patients and staff.
- Define the phenotypes and endotypes of CRS with and without nasal polyposis.
- List the inflammatory mediators and cellular mechanism of various CRS endotypes.
- Discuss the role of biologics in the treatment of CRS with and without nasal polyposis.
- Apply the knowledge acquired about endotypes and phenotypes of CRS in devising a tailored treatment plan.
- Interpret paranasal sinus imaging, identify surgical anatomy based on imaging and intra-operative landmarks and recognize anatomic variants that may increase risk of operative complications.
- Define the role of intra-operative navigation during endoscopic sinus surgery.
- Select the appropriate surgical tools and devices such as balloon-sinus dilation, tissue spacers and packing material to improve outcomes.
- Recognize intra-operative complications during endoscopic sinus surgery and develop plans to safely handle them.
- Perform work-up of patients presenting with SDB, order appropriate testing and recognize the role of DISE.
- Discuss surgical treatment options for patients with OSA based on the understanding of airway anatomy and areas of collapse as determined by office examination and DISE leading to OSA.
- Develop a tailored upper airway surgical, recommend treatment and select patients that are candidate for UAS.
- Discuss the work-up of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with an unknown primary and recognize the role of PET scan.
- Define the role of HPV in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma including prognosis and impact on treatment choice and algorithm.
